March 1st - 2010 - All guests are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Our Society supplies meat and drinks for everyone.

Everyone is invited, member and non-members!!

It will be a wonderful event!!

- Speaker is Gregg Free (renowned Austin restoration specialist who is working on the Robertson Plantation)
- Our annual "Person of the Year" Award will be presented
- Lots of delicious food
- Unveiling of our new Historical Note Pads (and a chance to buy them)

The Salado Historical Society is hosting its annual “Old Fashioned 4th of July Picnic” again this year. It is on July 3rd at Salado Pace Park. Starts at 6:30 PM

October 22 - 24 2010 - SALADO FOUNDERS DAY FESTIVAL (Date being confirmed)
MUSIC, FOOD, FUN & EXCITEMENT – that's what Salado has in store for the 1st annual Founders Day Festival scheduled on Friday thru Sunday, October 22 - 24, 2010, with activities planned throughout the historic Village. Salado is celebrating its 150th anniversary of its founding in 1859 along with the formation of the Salado College the following year. For the first time in many years, the Historic Robertson Plantation Home will be open for tours. The docents (many of which are Historical Society members) and family members will be in period dress and will answer questions about the home and its history.

November 1st - 2010 - FALL CHILI SUPPER and MEMBERSHIP DRIVE 6:00 PM
The Salado Historical Society annual open meeting and chili supper is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1 at the Civic Center.
New officers and board members that will take office in January will be elected.
The public is invited to the supper meeting. The Society Board will provide chili and beef stew and iced tea and coffee. Board members and other attendees are asked to supply salads and desserts.


December 3, 4, & 5 - 2010 - SALADO CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES
The Salado Historical Society will present their annual Tour of Homes and Historical Buildings on December 3, 4, & 5 from 6-8 on Friday, 10-5 on Saturday, and 1-4 Sunday. The tour will feature several charming homes, historical buildings, and the newly restored Historical Log Cabins, all dressed for Christmas.

This popular event is held during the first weekend of the Salado Christmas Stroll, when stores will have late night shopping, carolers, and special holiday events.

Board meetings are the first Monday of each month in the Salado Civic Center Historical Room @ 6:00 PM.
